FAQs

Q: Why does TagTrail need “Always Allow” location access? A: “Always Allow” is required so TagTrail can check if you’re near a saved tag even when the app is closed or running in the background. Without this, you won’t get location-based reminders unless the app is open and active. TagTrail uses low-power background monitoring (not constant GPS) to detect when you arrive at or leave a tagged location. No location data leaves your phone.

Q: How do I add a tag? A: Tap the “+” button and choose text, image, or voice tag.

Q: How do I delete/edit a tag? A: Tap on the location-viewfinder icon located on the right side of the tag in the list.

Q: Does the app work offline? A: Yes, tags are saved locally and never leave your phone.

1. Location Data

• We access your location in the foreground and in the background to monitor saved places (geofences) and send location‑based notifications when you arrive near or leave a tag. This may occur even if the app is closed.
• TagTrail uses low‑power background updates (e.g., region monitoring / significant‑change) — not constant GPS tracking.
• We do not keep a continuous history of your movements. We store only the coordinates you choose to save as tags (and the current location at the moment you create a tag).
• We don’t have access to that data.
• We do not share your location data with third parties.
